This chocolate avocado mousse is a combination of healthy and delicious ingredients that come together and create a rich and silky mousse.
I love making this chocolate avocado mousse for friends (and myself!). During parties, we present our chocolate mousse and ask our friends to guess the secret decadent ingredient. Most respond with “butter”, “heavy whipping cream”, or “eggs”. Jaws drop when we announce that the main ingredient is our avocados.
If you’ve never tried chocolate avocado mousse then this healthy recipe will take you completely by surprise! It is rich and silky smooth. You really cannot taste the avocado. This chocolate avocado mousse tastes so decadent and sinful that you completely forget you’re getting many great nutrients and so many health benefits at the same time!
- 4 ripe AvoGanic avocados
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup maple syrup (or honey)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- A few dashes of cayenne pepper (optional)
- Fresh blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries
- Coconut whip cream
- Sliced almonds
- Cracked sea salt
- Drizzle of caramel
- Dollup of peanut butter
Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Blend until creamy and smooth. Add more sweetener of choice to enhance sweetness. Scoop mousse into individual single serving bowls or in a large family-style bowl. Cover with plastic wrap (pressing the plastic wrap down on the pudding to prevent a skin from forming) and chill for a few hours, or overnight. Garnish before serving. For leftovers, keep in fridge up to a few days, though the chocolate avocado mousse is best when fresh.
